Before starting their journey, drivers must purchase the e-vignette for the relevant vehicle category, in one of the following ways:
Based on their validity period, e-vignettes may be purchased either for a week (10 days), a month or for one year. Customers are advised to keep the counterfoil or the confirmation message received upon purchasing the e-vignette for a period of 2 years from the last day of the validity of the e-vignette.
Driving on a toll section without a valid road use authorisation shall be considered unauthorised road use and shall result in a fine. National Toll Payment Services uses road cameras, toll control cars and mobile enforcement units to verify payment of tolls. For more information on the fines that apply, please read the ‘Payment obligation’ section.
The road use authorisation is invalid if:
When purchasing a vignette, customers must provide the registration number, vehicle category and nationality of their vehicles, as well as the intended period of road use; no other documents are required.
Individuals acting other than as owners or vehicle keepers in fine-related administrative procedures must have a power of attorney. The relevant form can be downloaded here. Customers acting on behalf of a legal entity may only initiate administrative procedures if they have a company power of attorney, and those authorised to sign for the company shall also present the relevant sample signature and certificate of incorporation. When using services or acting in fine-related administrative procedures based on a power of attorney, the acting representative shall also present personal identification documents to prove their identity.
Customers acting as owners or vehicle keepers shall present the vehicle registration certificate and the counterfoil.
The standard fee of the services, inclusive of VAT, is HUF 1 470. The service fee payable for administrative procedures concerning a vehicle shall only be paid once per request.
